Hi! I’m Daryl.

 

By day I work in the world of HR, currently with large social housing landlords and associations who are trying their best to solve the housing crisis in the UK, one property at a time. To support this I make sure they have highly skilled, motivated, and engaged people to be able to deliver the work. A main highlight of my career has been launching a programme focused on making workplaces more inclusive – it’s called The Allyship Project and focused on helping all individuals critically evaluate their behaviour and work out what they can adapt to be more welcoming, inclusive and foster and better sense of belonging for their colleagues – particularly those who are from minoritised groups.

By night I am an all-singing, all dancing, all performing amateur actor who is involved in 5 or 6 productions a year. This could be as a director, performer, or helping out echnically! Theatre is something that has shaped who I am and I’m happiest when ’m on stage.

 

From the age of 15 I have worked with young people. I started my career as a children’s birthday party host, and this grew into leading my own student
volunteering organisation and into leading the team to a record-breaking fundraising total for Exeter University’s Raising and Giving society. Coming out of uni, I found myself drawn to working with young people and spent 7 years in educational roles, supporting the literacy and numeracy skills of literally thousands of children and young people across South London and Kent. I am thrilled to be a Mosaic Trustee; a role that pulls together the joy I have for the young persons in this world and my own drive and determination to make the world a better, more loving place for LGBTQ+ individuals.
