Jo Wittams

I have worked in the charity sector since 2004, across research, campaigning, fundraising, finance and operations. I am currently a co-Executive Director of The Equality Trust - a small, national charity working to dismantle structural inequalities in the UK. I have always been passionate about addressing inequality and injustice, and - growing up bi in the 1980 and 90s - understand the crucial importance of safe and joyful spaces for young people with queer identities. Online spaces and moving to Manchester for uni in the mid 1990s enabled me to be open about my identity, with the early days of queer indie club Poptastic being particularly central! Since becoming a parent, I have ensured my children learn about difference, inequality, privilege and justice - and we have always attended our local Pride as a family.
Mosaic is a fantastic charity, providing essential services, and I am privileged and excited to be able to support it.
