Our mission is to enhance and sustain the health and well-being of young Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex and more (LGBT+) communities by providing activities, programs and services that support, educate and inspire our beneficiaries. Through this, we empower community members; provide essential resources; advocate for young LGBT+ human rights; and embrace, promote and support our cultural diversity in youth.
We run a wide range of core activities, programs and services to fulfill our mission, which include the following:
Under 20s Exclusive LGBT+ Youth Club
LGBT+ Inclusion in Education & Schools
LGBT+ Youth Exclusive Events
Retreats & Residential Programs
We won't stop until we build a strong, cohesive LGBT+ community that is safe from abuse, free from prejudice, healthy and every LGBT+ young person feels safe, inspired and proud of who they are.
Our History &Our Future
Mosaic was established in 2001 by Brent Council, as a LGBT specific sexual health service for young people under the age of 25. Brent Council then saw that there was a need for a safe space and productive environment for LGBT+ young people, so Mosaic extended its provision as an LGBT youth centre. Since then, we have now supported, educated and inspired over 7500 young people.
In 2014, central government announced it would be cutting vital youth services and Mosaic would be hit by this policy and terminated. The Mosaic team saw the vital need for the service and although made redundant, refused to give up on its members and future generations of LGBT+ young people. In 2015, Mosaic, THE CHARITY, WAS BORN.
Over the next few years, we aim to establish firm foundations so that we can sustain and grow our services and programs.
